Rose Gold Weakness

Jumpsuit - Shimmer (Lokhandwala), Belt - New Look, Shoes - Done by None, Necklace - Blur, Rings - asos.com, Bag - Cupidity, Sunglasses - Street stall in Goa

If you knew me personally, you'd probably know my obsession with all things rose gold and holographic is borderline crazy! I know rose gold is like so last year for many of you, but my fixation with it is yet to fade. So, if you're one of those who is completely over the entire rose gold phase, I'm sorry, but I'm still clinging on to it with all I have!

Be it make up, nail polish, shoes, bags, and of course, jewellery, I have this toxic need to own everything rose gold that I set my eyes on. I say toxic because, although buying rose gold stuff leaves me ecstatic, it has quite the opposite effect on my wallet!

For those of you who don't know much about rose gold, it's also known as pink gold or red gold, and personally, I think it's the prettiest metallic colour I've ever seen! It's been around for ages now, and especially last year it was quite a rage! Michael Kors had the prettiest rose gold watches last year, and they have some amazing ones now as well. I've been obsessed with this colour for as long as I can remember and this love doesn't seem to be going anywhere anytime soon! I believe that it can accentuate even the simplest of outfits, and it's just so different from the conventional gold and silver. So obviously, if you haven't figured out already, I own a whole lot of rose gold stuff. I haven't really worn too much of it on my blog so far, so I decided to make it the highlight of this post! I wore this look to brunch on a Sunday. Surprisingly there weren't too many people around the Gateway of India that day, and so I shot my look there! It was a really fun shoot, as you can probably tell from some of the pictures!

If you're like me and cannot stop loving this colour, let me know in the comments below and tell me your favourite rose gold possession. I hope I'm not the only one out there!

Earthy Vibes

Top - Redress, Skirt - Forever 21, Shoes - New Look, Sunglasses & Bracelet - The Snob Shop, Earrings - Asos

I don't know whether this happens with any of you or maybe it's just me, but whenever I have a day off work or it's the weekend, I only want to wear skirts or dresses. And almost always, I end up wearing a maxi.

I've noticed that many a time when I put together a look in a hurry, it turns out to be unexpectedly nice. And sometimes even better than many of my pre planned outfits. I wore this look last Sunday. It was raining on and off, and so I chose to wear a midi skirt because managing a maxi would be a big task! I really liked how the whole outfit looked, so I decided to do an impromptu shoot to share the look. The tones of the look were a little earthy, so I went with a bold lip for a pop of colour. I'm anyway hopelessly addicted to this lipstick off late!

Coming to this week's giveaway, I'm giving a gift voucher worth INR 2500 from The Snob Shop, and a pair of bandage leggings, which are Snob's bestselling product! To win, follow me on Instagram and Twitter, and you'll find what you gotta do there! Giveaway ends on Thursday (21st August), and the winner will be announced the next day on my Facebook page. Hope you're having a wonderful Sunday!

Monsoon make up faves!

Some of you asked me what my daily make up routine is, especially in the monsoons. So here's a list of my faves that I've been using religiously this season! Most of them are easily available in India.
Skipping foundation and concealer :
Because it's so humid outside, foundation or concealer will make you look a complete mess in this weather. Instead, I recommend using a primer and powder for daily wear. If you don't use foundation or concealer on a regular basis, you can skip the powder. I use the Clinique SuperPrimer because I think it works best for my skin. The Rimmel Stay Matte pressed powder is the only powder I've tried that has actually stayed matte for an entire day, and I cannot do without it. Since Rimmel products aren't very easy to source in Mumbai, you can buy it online here. Delivery does take a while, though.

Blush & Eyes
I use The Body Shop's Lip & Cheek Stain on my cheeks. It is extremely light and gives a completely natural blush that I absolutely love! As I'm sure you all know, eye make up has to be waterproof in this weather. You definitely don't want to end up with runny mascara by the end of the day. I use the LancĂ´me Hypnose Drama mascara and it's amazing! Also, if you use eyeliner everyday, you should try the Mac Liquidlast Liner. It's waterproof and I've been using it every monsoon for almost 5 years now!

Lips
Lastly, for all you lipstick lovers, try not to use a heavy or creamy lipstick. Switch to matte ones instead. The Revlon Color Burst Matte lip balm is a must try! They have loads of colour options, from nudes to purples and reds. The texture is super light and it lasts really long. Since I usually wear a pink lipstick, my favourite shade is Showy Flamboyance.

Here are a few tips to keep in mind during the rains :

1. After cleansing your face, rub an ice cube on it for a minute or two. This helps with oily skin, and also sensitive skin that may be prone to acne.
2. Just because it's really humid outside, doesn't mean you deprive your skin of daily moisturising. Stick to your daily CTM routine twice a day.
3. Try to avoid using products that are too creamy or have a heavy texture. Stick to powders.
4. If your makeup begins to run while you're out, don't wipe it with your hand. Just blot your skin with oil blotting sheets and try to fix your makeup the first chance you get.
5. Avoid using an eyebrow pencil or any powders to shape your brows unless absolutely necessary.
6. You may think the sun isn't harsh in this weather so you can skip your sunscreen, but trust me, even if the sun's hiding behind the clouds, sunscreen is an absolute must.
